LONDON, Sporting Alert – The English Premier League leading goalscorers heading into the Week 33 fixtures this weekend.
Tottenham frontman Harry Kane is currently the leading goalscorers in the Premier League this season with 22 goals and the England forward will be looking to add to that tally this coming weekend.
And Kane will need to keep scoring, as the likes of Jamie Vardy, Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero are all in striking distance and any slip-up from him will open the door for the chasers to catch the league’s hotshot.
Meanwhile, Vardy, who is having a breakout campaign for surprised leaders Leicester City this season, currently has 19 goals to his name and he is a strong favourite to add to his tally when the league leaders take on the relegation threatened Sunderland this weekend.
Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, who is a target this summer of several of the big Premier League, comes next with 18 goals and his teammates believe the Belgian is a strong candidate for the Premier League Golden Boot.
“For me, he is the best player of the season so far,” Kevin Mirallas said on www.everton.com.
“He has scored a lot of goals in each competition so thank you for that Rom!
“I hope he continues like that because I would like to win the FA Cup.
“I know he is going for the Golden Boot but he is four behind Kane and Vardy is in there too. We have eight league games left and Rom has the quality to score a lot of goals.
“I would say that though because he is my friend and Christian plays for Liverpool!”
Manchester City star forward Aguero sits fourth on the list with 17 goals, with Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City rounding out the top five with 16 goals.
Odion Ighalo (Watford) 14, Jermain Defoe (Sunderland) 12, Olivier Giroud (Arsenal) 12, Diego Costa (Chelsea) 11 and Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea City) 10 complete the top 10 chart.
