English Premier League Scores, Standings: Apr. 21

LONDON, Sporting Alert – English Premier League scores and standings after the games that were played in Week 34 on Thursday (21).

Arsenal closed out a very busy mid-week of fixtures with a comfortable 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion to keep their title fight going.

After the latest round of games, battlers Leicester City continue to lead the table standings with 73 points, five more than second-place Tottenham (68pts), with Manchester City (63pts) in third and the Gunners (61pts) going to bed in fourth place.

On Wednesday, Liverpool, Manchester United and West Ham United who are still all chasing places in Europe, picked up wins to strengthened their cases.

Liverpool hammered Everton 4-0 to move to 54 points with a game in hand, while Manchester United tagged Crystal Palace 2-0 and West Ham United picked up a 3-1 win over Watford.

In the table standings, the Red Devils are fifth on 59 points, the Hammers come next with 56 and the Reds (54).

Completing the top 10 are Southampton (51), Stoke City (47) and Chelsea (44).

The top 10 five teams in the EPL points standings are Everton, Watford and AFC Bournemouth – all on 41 points, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion – both on 40pts.

The relegation battle is just as thrilling as the fight for the title, with Sunderland and Newcastle United hoping to avoid following the footsteps of the already relegated Aston Villa.

Sunderland are sitting 18th on 30pts, one more point than Newcastle, who are 19th.

Norwich City, on 31 points, are still not out of the woods and could very well find themselves in the scuffle for survival as well.

The next round of fixtures are from Saturday, 23 April to Monday, 25, April.
