LONDON, Sporting Alert – EPL scores and results in Week 13 on Saturday, November 21. Manchester United got the ball rolling early.
Manchester United beat Watford 2-1 to go second of the EPL table standings, despite not being at their best and playing without several key players, including captain Wayne Rooney, strike partner Anthony Martial and midfielder Michael Carrick.
Memphis Depay celebrated his return to the starting team with a golden moment after the Dutchman opened the scoring for Manchester United early in the contest.
Depay, who had been dropped for his poor form, put the visitors ahead in the 11th minute with a nice finish, following a wonderful cross by Ander Herrera.
Herrera put a teasing ball into the box and Depay timed his moment perfectly to split his markers and side-footed home into the top left corner of the goal.
Manchester United dominated the ball possession, but failed to make good use of it which gave Watford a life-line.
Three minutes before regulation time Troy Deeney gave the home side some hope of grabbing a point when he put away a penalty kick, following a foul by substitute Marcos Rojo inside the box on Odion Ighalo.
However, the Red Devils restored their lead deep into stoppage time when Bastian Schweinsteiger saw his effort from a tight angle turned in by Deeney as he tried to clear the shot.
The win takes Manchester United to 27 points.
