NEW YORK, Sporting Alert – The ESPN3 schedule for the NCAA basketball games taking place on Monday, November 21.
Highlighting the list of games on the schedule is the clash involving No. 22 Texas and Northwestern in the semifinals of the 10th annual Legends Classic at Barclays Center, Brooklyn in New York.
The Longhorns (3-0) opened the season with three consecutive wins and is averaging 81 points per game and giving away 61.3 at the other end.
They will go up against the Wildcats (2-1) who have won two of their opening three games, but are going off a close 70-68 defeat against Butler last Wednesday night.
Monday’s matchup against Northwestern will be Texas’ first on the road this season and head coach Shaka Smart is ready to see how his youthful squad will handle the experience.
“At this point last season we had played better competition than we’ve played this year so everything’s relative,” Smart said last Thursday.
“Now the question is: Can we go on the road? The competition level will go up in New York.
“We will see better athletes. We will see more size. We will see better teams. How do we respond to that?”
Senior guard Kendal Yancy, who has reached double figures in all three outings this season, is averaging 13.7 points per game for Texas.
Sophomore forward Vic Law is putting out 20.3 points per games and 5.3 rebounds for the Wildcats.
Law scored a career-high 26 points against Eastern Washington and also led his team with 17 points and six rebounds in the defeat against Butler.
Monday’s clash with Northwestern, which is live on the ESPN3 schedule at 9:30 pm ET, follows the first semifinal game between Notre Dame and Colorado at 7:00 pm. This game will be live on ESPN2 and streaming on the WatchESPN app.
Also live on the college men’s basketball ESPN3 schedule on Monday, Illinois, led by senior guard Malcolm Hill, who is averaging 22.5 points per game, takes a 4-0 season record into a NIT Season Tip-Off – Campus Game against on Winthrop at State Farm Center in
Champaign.
Elsewhere, Tennessee-Martin and Canisius will face-off in the Bluegrass Showcase at Koessler Athletic Center in Buffalo, New York, while Mount St Mary’s and Southern Illinois meet in the Golden Gopher Showcase.
