(Sporting Alert) — Roberto Martinez and English Premier League side Everton will take on Serie A champions Juventus and Spanish coach believes the addition to an already star studded team makes them one of the best in Europe.
Everton will match talents with Juventus in the friendly game and Martinez, who left relegated Wigan to take the vacant slot at the Blues is looking forward to seeing a good contest.
The Old Lady signed strikers Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente this summer to add to the club’s powerhouse midfield and Martinez thinks they will be tough in Europe.
“It is a great challenge. It is a glamourous game against a team I have admired for the last few years,” he told Evertontv on the team’s USA tour.
“From a tactical point of view, they are the best team playing a back three at this present time. It’s going to be a terrific test – this is as good as it gets in terms of games for us.
“The forward line has increased in glamour with Llorente and Tevez, who we all know about. To have that forward line competing with the existing players like Vucinic and Giovinco, it’s a very strong team.”
Wednesday night Everton is expected to get a good workout at AT&T Park when the two sides meet up.
