“It’s a great possibility, but it’s still so early in the season,” Everton left-back Leighton Baines said ahead of the clash.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez makes one change from the starting XI that last featured, with Ross Barkley dropped to the bench and replaced by Leon Osman in midfield.
On loan forward Romelu Lukaku has been in very good form in front of goal thus far this season, scoring five goals in his last five league games for Everton and he looks well on schedule to add to his tally in this clash.
Kevin Mirallas, James McCarthy and Gareth Barry all start as well for the home side which is unbeaten at home this season in all competitions.
Tottenham, meanwhile, is unchanged from the same team that beat Hull City in their last EPL game, which means that Christian Eriksen continues to be on the bench and Lewis Holtby starts in that playmaker role.
Roberto Soldado leads the attack, with Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon starting as well for the visitors.
