Florida State Stays No. 1 in shake up AP Poll: Week 7

MIAMI, FL (Sporting Alert) — Florida State stayed No. 1 in The Associated Press College Football poll in Week 7, but there were lots of movement below them.

Following the dramatic Week 7 where three of the top four teams were upset, Mississippi and Mississippi State both made notable moves into the top five.

In fact, the pair are tied for third in the Top 25.

Florida State (5-0) remain the top ranked team in the country after picking up 35 first place votes for 1461 total points.

Auburn, the only other top six team to win on Saturday, moved up three places to No. 2 after crushing No. 15 LSU, 41-7. They received 23 first-place votes and 1459 total points.

Meanwhile, Mississippi State jumped from No. 12 to No. 3 after beating the then-No. 6 Texas A&M, 48-31, while Ole Miss, who stunned last week’s No. 3 Alabama, climbed to No.4.

Baylor rounds out the top five, while Notre Dame is No. 6, Alabama dropped to No. 7 and TCU, who beat Oklahoma, make their way up from No. 25 to No. 9.

The big droppers on the day were Oklahoma from 4th to 11th, Oregon, who dipped from No. 2 to No. 12 and last week’s No. 6 Texas A&M, who is now No. 14.
