MIAMI, FL (December 17) —— The nation’s top five teams in the latest rankings are in action today on the NCAA college men’s basketball AP Top 25 schedule on Saturday, December 17, and below you will find all the game times, match-up, and live TV channels.
Today’s men’s college basketball AP Top 25 schedule will feature No. 1 Purdue, No. 2 Virginia, No. 3 UConn, fourth-ranked Alabama, and No. 5 Houston. In fact, the schedule includes five ranked vs ranked match-ups, while we should expect to see some of the ranked teams being seriously challenged by their respective unranked opponents who were dropped from previous polls or some who have been lingering around with votes for rankings.
The featured game on the schedule is the AP Top 5 clash between No. 2 Virginia vs No. 5 Houston, which was the previous top-ranked team before losing to Alabama and dropping in the current rankings. Tip-off time for the game at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, is 2:00 pm ET and ESPN2 will provide the live television broadcast.
There is also a Top 10 clash on the schedule today, as No. 6 Tennessee travel to McKale Center in Tucson to face No. 9 Arizona, with this game starting at 10:30 p.m. and broadcasting live on ESPN2 as well.
Keep a close eye on the CBS Sports Classic clash between No. 23 Ohio State against North Carolina at Madison Square Garden in New York, starting at 3:00 pm and broadcasting on CBS. The Buckeyes will have their hands full against a Tar Heels side that was No. 1 in the preseason before falling right out of the AP Top 25 after a series of poor results.
Elsewhere today, No. 1 Purdue will battle against Davidson in Indianapolis, the impressive No. 3 UConn is at Butler, while I am also excited about the top 25 encounter involving No. 4 Alabama vs. No. 15 Gonzaga in Birmingham. No. 8 Kansas hosts No. 14 Indiana at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence and No. 25 Miami takes on St. Francis (Pa.).
