Duke (2-2) heads on the road hoping to build some momentum, following a challenging and inconsistent season so far. The Blue Devils will be without star freshman and NBA prospect Jalen Johnson, who has been ruled out indefinitely with a foot injury, the team announced on Twitter Tuesday.

Johnson is averaging 11.5 points and 8.3 rebounds through four game so far this season.

Notre Dame (2-2) bounced back from its defeat to No. 22 Ohio State with a 64-63 victory over Kentucky on Saturday Kentucky to claim the program’s first-ever victory in Lexington.

Besides the victory over Kentucky, Mike Brey’s team has also registered a win are over Detroit Mercy (78-70) with the other defeat being an 80-70 result against No. 13 Michigan State in the season opener.

The Fighting Irish will be confident about beating Duke at home, although the Blue Devils have won six straight and being backed slightly by the ESPN’s Basketball Power Index.

When the two teams take the court for Wednesday’s matchup, it will be the 34th meeting between the programs. Duke leads the all-time series against Notre Dame 26-7, with the Blue Devils leading the series 7-5 since the Fighting Irish joined the ACC.

Individually, Prentiss Hubb is currently pacing the Fighting Irish with 21.3 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds. Fellow junior Nate Laszewski is averaging close to a double-double with 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds.
