Indiana State XC Pre-National Invitational Lists and Live Coverage Info

Terre Haute, IN (Sporting Alert) — Here are the listed schools and their rosters for the 2013 Indiana State Cross Country Pre-National Invitational, taking place in Terre Haute, IN on Saturday.

Amongst the listed teams of the men’s side is No. 1 and defending NCAA National champion Oklahoma State, who brings a mixture of   runners to this invitational, as head coach Dave Smith look to finalize his squad before the bigger meets.

Smith also admits that will be a good chance to give some of his newer runners a chance to race “in a high-pressure meet.”

“On the men’s side, we’re trying to give our guys who haven’t raced in a high-pressure meet a chance to do so,” Smith said. “We’re also trying to sort out the lineup we will take into the postseason. We have to make decisions pretty soon.

“We have 12 or 13 guys who are fighting for seven to 10 spots.”

On the men’s field will also includes No. 2 Colorado, winner of the last two Pre-Nationals, No. 4 Oregon, No. 9 Tulsa, No. 10 Princeton, No. 12 Indiana, No. 18 Iona, No. 19 Boise State, No. 23 Villanova and No. 24 Georgetown. Another team to look out for is Florida State, who are expected to be in the top half when the results come out, despite not being in the numbered rankings.

On the women’s side, No. 2 Florida State, No. 5 Georgetown, No. 6 Oregon, No. 11 Stanford, No. 12 Colorado, No. 14 Michigan, No. 16 Virginia and No. 18 Villanova will all battle, alongside No. 19 Oklahoma State.

A total of  75 men’s school and 86 women’s programs will take part in the invitational, which will be broken up into different sections.
