Jackson shot 9-of-16 from the floor, pulled down nine rebounds and blocked two shots for the Jayhawks (11-1), who was winning for the 11th straight time since losing their season opener to Indiana.
Mykhailiuk went 8-of-14 from the floor and buried three of four 3-pointers while grabbing six rebounds in the win in Kansas’ first true road game of the season.
“We won, and it was a good game, but I don’t think we played really good,” Mykhailiuk said. “We made some stops, but we had to play really, really hard to get the win.”
Senior guard Frank Mason III added 13 points, eight assists, five rebounds and two steals for Kansas, which shot 44.4 percent and had 18 assists on 28 scored baskets.
“I thought we actually played really good early, and I thought we defended and rebounded pretty well early,” Kansas coach Bill Self said.
“We didn’t play very well the second half. They were obviously better than us in the second half. If you tell us before the game you would win by 18 on the road, you definitely take that.
“We had a chance to play much better than that.”
Tyrell Green led UNLV with 12 points and seven boards while Kris Clyburn supported with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat.
Jalen Poyser finished with 10 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Rebels (7-6).
The Jayhawks raced out to a 42-20 lead at halftime with Jackson scoring 14 of those points on 6-of-7 shooting and the team going 16-of-32 from the floor at the break.
UNLV opened the second half on a 15-7 run to trim the deficit to 49-35 at the 14:30 mark, but the visitors were too strong in the end.
Landen Lucas had 12 rebounds and four points for Kansas.

UNLV is at Colorado State on Dec 28 to start Mountain West play.
