Jamaica 2 vs Nicaragua 0 CONCACAF WCQ

Simon Dawkins scored late in the second half to give Jamaica a 2-0 lead and 4-3 on aggregate.

SPORTING ALERT – Jamaica, needing to score two goals on the road, has taken the lead against Nicaragua in the second leg of their CONCACAF World Cup Third Round Qualifying game.

Striker Darren Mattocks has scored the opening goal for the Reggae Boyz, who are hoping to bounce back from the shocking defeat at home in the first leg last Friday.

Mattocks finished from close range, following a corner kick that wasn’t handled properly in the box by the Nicaragua defenders.

Jamaica leads the contest 1-0, with the score 3-3 on aggregate after Nicaragua won the first leg in Kingston, 3-2.

Nicaragua holds the advantage on away goals, but will need to have a very good night to hold off the visitors who are dominating the early minutes of the contest thus far.

There are certainly more goals to come in this contest and if the opening minutes are the sign of what is to come, then it could be a very long night for the home side.
