FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Jonathan Kasibabu grabbed his fourth double-double of the season to help Fairfield beat Niagara 77-59 on Monday night.
Kasibabu collected 20 points and 14 rebounds and shot 10-of-14 from the field for Fairfield (4-11, 1-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) to claim its first win in conference play this season.
The senior forward from Kinshasa, Congo, had compiled three previous double-doubles this term, but it was the first time the Stags were winning on such occasion.
Freshman Neftali Alvarez added 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go with six rebounds, while Jesus Cruz ended 13 points, nine rebounds and three assists for Fairfield, which ended a two-game skid.

Dominik Fragala scored 20 points to lead Niagara (7-8, 0-2), which trailed 41-30 at halftime.
As a team, Purple Eagles, who losing three straight, shot 40.0 percent (22-of-55) from the field, but went 6-for-21 from 3-pointers.
Fairfield was 50.8 percent on shooting from the floor, but made just 6-for-22 from long-range.
The Stags outrebounded Niagara 39-27 in the victory.
