LA Clippers, Warriors Win: NBA Preseason Scores Oct. 22

LOS ANGELES, Sporting Alert – LA Clippers and Warriors were among the NBA preseason winners on Thursday night. Here are the preseason scores and a brief recap on Oct. 22.

WARRIORS 136, LA LAKERS 97

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes all scored in double figures and the Golden State Warriors eased to a 136-97 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in a preseason game on Thursday night.

The game was the preseason finale for both teams as the 2015-16 NBA regular season begins next Tuesday.

Stephen Curry scored 23 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and four steals and Klay Thompson added 24 points for the Warriors, who scored 40 points in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.

Harrison Barnes had 23 points, five rebounds and four assists before sitting out the fourth quarter along with Curry and Thompson.

Lou Williams, returning from a groin problem, scored 19 points to lead the way for the LA Lakers, with Anthony Brown adding 14 points and Ryan Kelly finishing with 13 points and six boards.

D’Angelo Russell ended with 11 points and four assists in the defeat for the Lakers, who rested Kobe Bryant to keep him fresh for next week’s regular season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Golden State starts the defense of its NBA title on Tuesday night on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans.

LA CLIPPERS 115, TRAIL BLAZERS 109

LOS ANGELES — Blake Griffin scored 22 points and the Los Angeles Clippers wrapped up its NBA preseason schedule with a 115-109 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.

Griffin, who shot 10 of 18 from the field, also had eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks.

Paul Pierce scored 19 points off the bench, with J.J. Redick and Austin Rivers finishing with 16 points each.

Damian Lillard paced the Trail Blazers with a game-high 39 points, nine assists, five boards and four steals, but accounted for eight of the team’s 17 turnovers.

CJ McCollum scored 22 points and Allen Crabbe added 10 for Portland, which takes on New Orleans at home in its NBA regular season opener on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Clippers open their NBA regular season schedule at the Sacramento Kings, also on Wednesday night.
