DALLAS, Sporting Alert – Latest NFL scores in Week 13, as the battles for playoff spots continue to take centre stage.

Among the winners on Sunday were the Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots.

At Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Matthew Stafford passed for 341 yards and two touchdowns and Golden Tate took eight catches for 145 yards and a TD and the Lions (8-4) won their fifth straight with a 28-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Stafford also threw a touchdown pass to Theo Riddick and was 30 of 42 on the day as Detroit sits atop the NFC North.

Drew Brees also piled up the yards in the air, going 31 of 44 for 326 yards, but also tossed two interceptions in the defeat for the Saints (5-7), who dropped three of their last four games.

At Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Tom Brady became the NFL‘s winningest quarterback on Sunday after he helped the New England Patriots beat the struggling Los Angeles Rams 26-10.

Brady, who collected his 201st victory, threw for 269 yards and a touchdown, moved ahead of Peyton Manning.

“Tom breaking the record, that’s what it is all about, winning games,” New England coach Bill Belichick said.

LeGarrette Blount ran for 88 yards and a score and Julian Edelman clutched onto eight of his 12 targets for 101 yards as the Patriots (10-2) outgained the Rams 402-162 in a one-sided contest.

Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Jared Goff was picked off two times and was 14 of 32 in passing for 161 yards and a touchdown in the defeat for Los Angeles (4-8) which was losing for the third successive time.

At the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Eric Berry intercepted a 2-point conversion attempt and returned it for two points and the Kansas City Chiefs secured a 29-28 victory over the Falcons on Sunday.

After scoring a touchdown to take a 28-27 lead with 4:32 left in the game, Atlanta saw its attempt for a two-point conversion picked off by Berry, who ran it home the other way to give back the lead to the visitors.

Berry also returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter to help Kansas City take a 20-16 lead at half time.

Travis Kelce caught all eight of his targets for 140 yards for the Chiefs (9-3).

Devonta Freeman rushed for a pair of scores for the Falcons (7-5), while Matt Ryan went 22 of 34 on passes for 297 yards with one touchdown and an interception.

Julio Jones caught the ball seven times for 113 yards for Atlanta.

In other NFL scores in Week 13, the Cam Newton started on the bench the Carolina Panthers were blew away 40-7 by the Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks, Jameis Winston helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the San Diego Chargers 28-21, while Big Ben and the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Giants 24-14.
