LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Manager Brendan Rodgers has named an unchanged Liverpool team for today’s crucial English Barclays Premier League clash with Chelsea at Anfield.
This means that fit-again striker Daniel Sturridge will start on the bench with Luis Suarez leading the attacking line by himself.
However, he will be supported well by Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling, with captain Steven Gerrard, Lucas Leiva and Joe Allen playing in the midfield.
Liverpool will be seeking their 12 successive Premier League victory.
In the meantime, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, despite claiming that he would play a weaken team to be ready for this week’s second leg Champions League clash, still named a useful team.
Petr Cech is out injured so Mark Schwarzer, as expected starts in goal, while Frank Lampard leads the team with John Terry out injured.
Czech 20-year-old defender Tomas Kalas makes his Premier League debut and will play alongside Branislav Ivanovic, with Gary Cahill on the bench.
Mohammad Salah and Nemanja Matic both start, so does Demba Ba.
