Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Manchester United

Manchester United Squad For Galatasaray Clash; Zlatan Could Feature

LONDON, Sporting Alert – Jose Mourinho has named his Manchester United squad for the pre-season clash against Galatasaray in Gothenburg on Saturday and Zlatan Ibrahimovic was among the players making the trip.

Ibrahimovic linked up with teammates this week, after missing the early part of the pre-season and trip to China for the first leg of Tour 2016 and the International Champions Cup.

The striker is back and will return to Sweden as part of the Red Devils’ 23-man squad, as manager Mourinho continues to prepare his team for the start of the English Premier League, which gets under way on Aug. 13.

The 34-year-old forward, who recently retired from international football, following a poor run with the national team at Euro 2016 earlier this summer, will join fellow summer recruits, defender Eric Bailly and playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who have already featured for Manchester United.

Ibrahimovic, who was pictured training with his club teammates on Thursday, is among several others who are set to make their summer debuts under Mourinho.

Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin, who went to the Euro 2016 final with France, Belgium’s Marouane Fellaini, David de Gea, Matteo Darmian and captain Wayne Rooney are all in contention to feature for the first time in this summer.

Also in the travelling party are Juan Mata, Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera, Ashley Young, Marcus Rashford and Memphis Depay.

Last time out Manchester United suffered an unimpressive 4-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai, but Mourinho, although was disappointed with the result, paid limited consideration to the score itself – noting that his players were just not physically ready.

We are expecting to see a better performance against Galatasaray in Sweden and the fans in Gothenburg will undoubtedly be happy to see Ibrahimovic in action.

Manchester United Tour Squad: De Gea, Johnstone, Romero, Valencia, Darmian, Jones, Rojo, Bailly, Blind, Shaw, Herrera, Fellaini, Mkhitaryan, Young, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Mata, Lingard, Memphis, Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Martial, Rashford.
