LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool welcome David Moyes’ Manchester United side to Anfield on Sunday for their Premier League clash.
Both teams have started the season well so far with Liverpool winning both their opening fixtures and Manchester United winning one and drawing the other of their openers.
On Sunday both clubs will be looking to take advantage of their good starts to the new campaign by picking up all three points.
In teams news, Manchester United could hand new summer recruit Wilfred Zaha his first start of the season as Moyes looks to generate some more pace to his side.
Defender Phil Jones could start as well, despite a knock on his back during last Monday’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Moyes could also start trio Danny Welbeck, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney in his attack, although Rooney is believed to be doubtful after he suffered a head injury in training on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will check on centre-back Kolo Toure (groin) ahead of the game to see if he’s recovered enough to play.
Fellow center-back Martin Skrtel could make his return, after recovering from a knee problem.
