STOKE-ON-TRENT, Sporting Alert — Former Manchester United players Darren Fletcher and Mame Biram Diouf both start for Stoke City after recovering minor injuries.
Fletcher will play alongside Joe Allen in the central midfield area, while Diouf will join Erik Pieters on the wing at Britannia Stadium.
Maxim Choupo-Moting, Kurt Zouma and Kevin Wimmer, who has been handed his debut with the club, also start for Mark Hughes side.
For Manchester United, meanwhile, manager Jose Mourinho makes three changes from their win over Leicester City before the international break.
Matteo Darmian, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford all come in for the Old Trafford outfits, with Daley Blind, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial making way.
Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku all start as well for Man United who can return to top of the English Premier League standing if they avoid defeat.
An unbalanced and very unlucky Manchester United team failed to breakdown Stoke City in both Premier League meetings last season as the two clashes ended in 1-1 draws.
What Did Mourinho Said About The International Break: “I hope that these 15 days without us being together and working together, doesn’t affect us too much. I know it will.
“I know that one thing is a week working with the players and working tactically and going through every principle of play to be ready for the weekend match; another thing is to have the players away and arriving step by step.
“I don’t even see them all…Hopefully we can keep a good level of play.”
