GUATEMALA CITY (Sporting Alert) — Lionel Messi returns to the starting line-up for Argentina in tonight’s friendly football international clash with Guatemala at Mateo Flores.
The Barcelona forward came off the bench in the last two World Cup qualifying games against Colombia and Ecuador, but was recalled to the starting team for friendly international.
Starting the Messi in the starting line-up are Sergio Aguero and Ezequiel Lavezzi who are also part of the attack as Argentina look to better its attacking option, following the 0-0 with Colombia and 1-1 draw with Ecuador last week.
The team also included Fabricio Coloccini, who will play in defense, alongside Hugo Campagnaro, José María Basanta and Clemente Rodríguez.
Argentina have drawn three of its last five games heading into the this friendly contest, while Guatemala have been defeated in two of its last three games.
Sergio Trujillo, Milton Leal and Elias Vasquez are amongst the starters for Guatemala.
