The 49ers were able to put the first points on the board with a 34-yard field goal by Robbie Gould and then Christian McCaffrey caught a 3-yard pass from Brock Purdy to complete a drive that covered 85 yards and took 2 minutes and 51 seconds to make the score 10-0 in favor of the San Francisco at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Seahawks responded. Kenneth Walker III scored a touchdown on a 7-yard rush to trim the deficit to 10-7 with a healthy 13:14 left in the period.
Robbie Gould was able to add another field goal for the 49ers, this time from 33 yards out to give his team a six-point advantage at 13-7 before the Seahawks took the lead.
Geno Smith connected with DK Metcalf for a 50-yard touchdown to for Seattle to take a 14-13 advantage with 5:01 remaining in the half before both teams traded field goals down the stretch.
San Francisco grabbed a 14-13 lead with 0:13 left but in the final seconds of the game, Jason Myers was able to make a 56-yard field goal, giving the lead back to the Seahawks with a score of 17-16 at halftime.
In terms of individual performances, San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy was 9 of 19 on completed passes with 147 yards, and one touchdown, and McCaffrey had five carries for 72 yards and one catch for a score. Brandon Aiyuk had three receptions for 73 yards for the 49ers.
On the other hand, Seattle’s Smith went 9 of 10 for 104 yards, and one touchdown, Walker III had 13 carries for 54 yards, and one touchdown and Metcalf had four receptions for 73 yards and one touchdown for the Seahawks.
