MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert – Carolina Panthers clinched their division and a playoffs bye, but how are things shaping up for everyone else in the NFL standings after Week 14 fixtures on Sunday.

The blazing Panthers (13-0) celebrated their first 13-win season in club history on Sunday with a one-sided 38-0 shutout win over the Atlanta Falcons (6-7), which mean that after clinching the NFC Division, Newton and Co. also secured a first-round bye in the NFC playoffs.

The win also sees the NFC South champions pushing their overall winning streak to 17th straight in the regular-season, which dated back to last term.

But Carolina wasn’t the only club taking care of postseason business in Week 14.

Fellow NFC outfits Arizona Cardinals (11-2) also clinched a playoff berth on Thursday night after beating the Minnesota Vikings 23-20.

Arizona was winning its seventh game in succession and many NFL pundits believe this is the team to look out for in the playoffs, despite the Panthers rolling at the moment.

Getting the business done in NFL Week 14 on Sunday as well were defending Super Bowl champions New England Patriots (11-2) who stopped a two-game skid with a 27-6 victory over the Houston Texans to also lock up a playoff spot.

The AFC East front-runners also earned a bye in the AFC playoffs and home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs.

Also in the playoff picture and look well set to lock up spots in the near future are the Green Bay Packers (9-4) who took care of the Cowboys (4-9) to drill the final nail in Dallas’ coffin as they finished with a losing record for the first time since 2010.

The Seattle Seahawks (8-5) are finding form at the right time — winning six in the last seven games, including four in a row with a 35-6 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Teams close to landing playoffs spots also are Minnesota Vikings (8-5), New York Jets (8-5), Kansas City Chiefs (8-5), Denver Broncos (10-3) and Cincinnati Bengals (10-3).
