BRONCOS 30, PATRIOTS 24

DENVER — The New England Patriots are no longer an unbeaten team.

C.J. Anderson ran for a 48-yard score in overtime, and the Denver Broncos handed the New England Patriots its first defeat of the season with a 30-24 result on a cold and snowy Sunday night at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

The Broncos, playing without quarterback Peyton Manning for a second successive game, rallied from being down 21-7 in the fourth quarter to take a 24-21 lead before the Patriots made a field goal to send the contest into overtime.

Anderson then powered his way into the end zone to score the winning touchdown with 12:32 left in overtime.

Brock Osweiler completed 23 of 42 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown and Anderson ran the ball 15 times for 113 yards and two scores in the win for the Broncos (9-2).

Emmanuel Sanders caught six passes for 113 yards for Denver.

Tom Brady threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns for the Patriots (10-1), who lost Rob Gronkowski after he left the game with 2:49 remaining in the fourth quarter with a right knee injury.

CHIEFS 30, BILLS 22

KANSAS CITY — Alex Smith threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns, Jeremy Maclin “got back to the basics,” and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 30-22 on Sunday to extend their winning streak.

Smith, who finished the game without an interception for the eight successive outing, completed 19 of 30 passes, as the Chiefs (6-5) won its fifth game in a row to smartly turn around a season that was destined for doom.

Spencer Ware ran for 114 yards and a score, Jeremy Maclin had nine catches for 160 yards and a touchdown, while Travis Kelce caught four passes for 69 yards and score in the win for Kansas City, which faces fellow AFC West team Oakland Raiders next Sunday.

Tyrod Taylor passed for 291 yards and three touchdowns and Sammy Watkins caught six passes for 158 yards and two TDs in the defeat for the Bills, who scored the opening 10 points of the game and had a 16-14 halftime lead.

Buffalo had 415 total yards, while Kansas City finished with 413.

BENGALS 31, RAMS 7

Andy Dalton threw two touchdown passes to A.J. Green on his way to finishing with three in total, and the Cincinnati Bengals easily put away the St. Louis Rams 31-7 in an NFL game on Sunday.

Dalton, who went 20 of 27 on passes for 233 yards, connected with Green from 10 and 18 yards, while passing to Tyler Eifert for a 22-yard touchdown.

Green took six of his eight targets for 61 yards and his pair of TDs as the Bengals (9-2) ended their two-game skid impressively.

Nick Foles passed for 228 yards, but was picked off three times in the defeat for the Rams (4-7) which dropped its fourth game.

CHARGERS 31, JAGUARS 25

Philip Rivers threw four touchdown passes — two went to Antonio Gates — and the San Diego Chargers defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-25 to return to winning ways in the NFL on Sunday.

Stevie Johnson caught seven balls for 92 yards and TD and Dontrelle Inman also had a catch for a touchdown in the win for the Chargers (3-8), who ended a six-game losing streak.

Blake Bortles was 30 of 49 on passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns for the Jaguars (4-7) who had its two-game winning streak snapped.
