Missing from the squad altogether is forward Alexis Sanchez, who did not traveled with Arsenal for the game.

Sanchez, who is the subject of a January move to either Manchester City or Manchester United, has six months left on his contract and Gunners manager Arsene Wenger appears ready to sell Chilean in this transfer window, rather than losing him for nothing in the summer.

The Frenchman said nothing hasn’t been decided as yet, but is expecting more clarity very soon.

“He’s been vague at the moment, his situation is not decided one way or the other so I left him at home,” Wenger told Sky Sports on Sunday.

The forward came on as a substitute for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup goalless draw at Chelsea in midweek, but the 29-year-old is apparently desperate for a move away from the Emirates before this window closes.

Sanchez trained and looked fairly happy on Saturday, but Wenger did admit on Friday that the former Barcelona forward is unlikely to sign a new deal to stay.
