MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Patrice Evra continues to feel unsettled by Manchester United’s pursue of Leighton Baines from Everton.
It was believed that David Moyes made another bid for the Everton left-back before that start of season, which the Blues said that rejected this week.
Evra has been solid for Manchester United and according to reports, the Frenchman is starting to feel a little unsettled by his manager’s continuous pursuit to get his former player.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal defender Martin Keown says he is puzzle by Moyes’ interest in Baines, adding that Evra is that the type of player the champions need.
“I find Manchester United’s interest in Leighton Baines a little strange,” Keown wrote on www.iol.co.za. “He’s a super player; a top left back who is among the best players in Europe for providing assists for his team. Some achievement that.
“Why does Moyes feel the need to bring in Baines? Age might be a reason, given that Evra is now 32.
“If Patrice Evra was already my left-back I’m not sure I’d be hurrying to replace him. He, too, is a marvellous full back, but he has another proven quality that is all-important at United. He’s a winner.
