LONDON (Sporting Alert) — English Premier League results and standings following the matches that took place on Tuesday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 11.

Leaders Chelsea maintained their seven point advantage atop of the table standings with a late 1-0 win over Everton on Wednesday night.

The game saw Juan Cuadrado handed his EPL debut start, but it was Willian, who grabbed the winner, while Petr Cech, who started ahead of Thibault Courtois, was named Man-of-the-Match for his performance in goal.

Victory saw Chelsea moved to 59 points, seven more than defending champions Manchester City, who hammered Stoke City 4-1.

Sergio Aguero scored a brace and James Milner and Samir Nasri added a goal each to set up the win for Man City, who are on 52 points.

Meanwhile, two goals from defender Chris Smalling, including the opener less than a minute after coming on as a substitute for an injured Phil Jones, and a Robin van Persie penalty kick, guided Manchester United to a 3-1 win over Burnley.

The win saw the Red Devils jumping to third-place in the league standings on 47 points, one more than Southampton.

On Tuesday night Liverpool edged Tottenham 3-2 to stay in touching distance of a Champions League place with Mario Balotelli netting the winner off the bench, while QPR lifted themselves out of relegation with a 2-0 win over Sunderland. Arsenal beat Leicester City 2-1 to stay in the title and Champions League hunt as well.

The top ten is completed by Arsenal (45) in fifth, Tottenham Hotspur (43), Liverpool (42), West Ham United (38), Swansea City (34) and Stoke City (33).

Aston Villa, Burnley and Leicester City are battling in the relegation zone and must begin to turn things around or run the risk at missing out playing in the Premier League next season.
