Reading beat Nottingham Forest 3-2; 4th in Sky Bet Championship

Reading players celebrate a goal against Nottm Forest

(Sporting Alert) — Reading beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 to jump to fourth in the Sky Bet Championship at The City Ground on Friday night.

The visitors jumped out to a two goal advantage when Pavel Pogrebnyak and Kaspars Gorkss scored inside the opening 15-minutes of the competition.

Former Reading player Simon Cox pulled a goal back for Nottingham Forest before the half-time break when he scored in t he 40th minute.

Half-time substitute Darius Henderson pulled the equaliser for Forest when he finished off a Cox pass on the hour mark.

However, Jordan Obita netted the go-ahead goal with 15-minutes left in the game and it turned out to be the winner on the night.

Defender Chris Gunter, who was booked 10 minutes into the second half, was sent off for a second bookable offence with nine-minutes to play.

In the end, Reading held on for the win and moved up four places to fourth place with 28 points in the Sky Bet Championship table standings.
