LONDON (SportingAlert) — Manchester United are again being linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal in Monday’s newspapers in the UK.

Vidal was heavily linked with the Red Devils during the summer transfer window, but stayed with Juventus after the Serie A side reportedly turned down bids for the central midfielder.

However, the Daily Star is reporting that Louis van Gaal is set to make a return for the Chile international, but face competition from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

It is understood that Vidal is looking to force a move away from Juventus after he was fined £78,400 by the Serie A champions for indiscipline.

Reports in Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, also suggested that Vidal’s representative, Fernando Felicevich, is currently in talks with Real Madrid over a January move.

At the same time, Manchester United boss Van Gaal could offer midfield playmaker Juan Mata if it helps to beat out Madrid for Vidal’s signature.

But it is believed that Mata, who faces major competition to keep a place in the starting, has no intentions of joining Juventus.
