No Ronaldo, but Bale ready to go for Real Madrid v Valladolid

MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Carlo Ancelotti has named his 19 member squad for Real Madrid Spanish La Liga match day 15. clash against Valladolid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Missing from the squad is leading forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who has not recovered fully from a hamstring strain he picked up in last weekend’s win at Almeria, which also forced him to miss the Champions League win over Galatasaray on Wednesday night.

“No, Cristiano won’t play because he is not comfortable and doesn’t feel good,” Ancelotti said. “We did a scan this morning and while the muscle is completely healed he is not comfortable and hasn’t trained much, so we are not going to take the risk.

“He has 15 days to work and prepare well for the next league match [at Osasuna on 14 December].”

So with Ronaldo out, the spotlight will now certainly be on summer recruit Gareth Bale, who has began to find his way at the club, following his world record move from Premier League team Tottenham.

Bale was on target in midweek and the Wales winger believes thinks are beginning to come together at the Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti dismissed reports that he and Sergio Ramos has had a fall-out after the Spanish international was again sent off in Real Madrid’s win over Galatasaray. The Italian coach says the center-back remains “a very important player for this team.”

“I think he made a mistake but that doesn’t change anything. Making a mistake on the pitch is normal and it is important to understand why,” the manager said.

“Sergio Ramos is a very important player for this team and everyone knows that.

“He is fine, he has no problem, he will play tomorrow and hopefully will play well.”

The Ronaldo-less Real side will be hoping for a victory as they seek to stay in the contact with Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Valladolid at the same, has not been in good touch in recent weeks and will be looking to end their run of four matches without a victory.
