Sanchez started in the 4-0 defeat against Liverpool before the international break and came close to leaving to join Manchester City on deadline day.

However, after Arsene Wenger rejected two approaches from Manchester City to keep Sanchez, the Frenchman has decided to only name the Chile international on the bench at the Emirates.

Wenger says Sanchez is tired from international duties and needed to rest from the start.

The team news for Arsenal sees boss Wenger making three changes from the last time out with Alexandre Lacazette, Sead Kolasinac and Shkodran Mustafi coming in.

Lacazette’s exclusion from the starting team for Liverpool game was a surprise to all of us, given his impressive start to his Gunners career, so the fans will be delighted to the France international back in the starting XI

Rob Holding, Sanchez and the now departed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the players making way.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe made just one adjustment from the team that lost 2-1 to Manchester City before the international break.

The lone change sees Ryan Fraser replacing Andrew Surman in the midfield.

After losing two successive games, Arsenal are trying to avoid losing three of their opening four games to a league campaign for the first time since 1982-83 (W0 D1 L3) when they finished 10th.
