Kagawa was left on the bench in Japan’s last game Greece, but the Manchester United playmaker returns to add some more attacking flair in midfield as the push for a place in the last 16 continues.
Meanwhile, midfielder playmaker Yasuhito Endo starts on the bench with Yuya Osako, Hotaru Yamaguchi, Manabu Saito and Masahiko Inoha.
Shinji Okazaki will once again lead the attack, while Keisuke Honda, Makoto Hasebe and Yuto Nagatomo also in the starting team as well.
For Colombia, captain Mario Yepes, as expected doesn’t start as he recovers from a muscle injury, with striker Carlos Bacca also rested.
Midfielder Carlos Sanchez was not risk, as he could miss the last 16 with another booked, and this opens the door for Alexander Mejia to start in that holding position in the center of the pitch.
