Kagawa has not been active so far Manchester United, but starts in back-to-back games for Japan, who have already booked their spot to the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
Also start are Keisuke Honda, Yasuhito Endo, Makoto Hasebe, Hiroshi Kiyotake, Yuto Nagatomo and Eiji Kawashima, who starts in goal.
Albert Adomah, Christian Atsu, Yussif Chibsah, Frank Acheampong and Abdul Waris are all among the starters today for Ghana.
