(SportingAlert) — The English Football League kicks-off tonight with Blackburn Rovers hosting Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship at Ewood Park.

For Cardiff City, who were relegated from the English Premier last season, new recruit Tom Adeyemi is only on the bench, but Adam Le Fondre, Kenwyne Jones and Nicky Maynard all start the game.

Also on the bench are Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Tom Adeyemi.

Gary Bowyer, meanwhile, named a strong starting lineup for Blackburn Rovers in the opening match of the new season, with defender Alex Baptiste, on loan from Bolton, making his and Rudy Gestede returns from illness to start in the attack.

However, Tommy Spurr misses the game as he failed to recover from a groin problem, Chris Brown left out as he continues to recovery from a knee injury and Luke Varney starts on the bench.
