MISSOULA, Mont. — Josh Bannan hit the go-ahead jumper with 4.9 seconds remaining and Montana edged past Northern Colorado 56-54 on Monday for its first win in Big Sky Conference play this season. Box Score
The Grizzlies leveled the season series against the Bears with the win after losing 64-62 last Saturday.
Northern Colorado went up 54-53 with 29 seconds left when Kur Jockuch scored from a layup and then completed the 3-point play from the free-throw line.
However, Bannan scored to put Montana 55-54 ahead and then Brandon Whitney of two from the stripe to close out the game.
Steadman finished with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way for the Grizzlies (4-6, 1-3 Conference) who started 0-3 in conference play. Steadman shot 9 of 17 from the field in his 32 minutes.

Bannan finished with 11 points and seven rebounds and Kyle Owens grabbed eight rebounds for Montana, which shot 35.5% from the field.
Brandon Whitney shot 4 of 6 from the field for nine points, four assists and two steals in the win.
Junior guard Bodie Hume had 17 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and two steals and shot 7 of 13 from the field to lead Northern Colorado.
Matt Johnson scored with 10 points, while Jamel Melvin ended with eight points on 4 of 6 shooting to go with six rebounds for the Bears (5-4, 2-2).
