LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Striker Fernando Torres is back in the Chelsea starting lineup for the Barclays Premier League clash with Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

Torres comes in to lead the front line for Jose Mourinho’s side, while Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard both started on the bench.

Juan Mata does start today as well and he will link up with Oscar and Eden Hazard, with Michael Essien and Ramires playing in midfield as well.

John Terry starts alongside Gary Cahill at center-back, with Samuel Eto’o and David Luiz both out.

For Southampton, England forward Rickie Lambert has been dropped to the bench as the manager makes two changes from the side that was beaten by Arsenal.

Daniel Osvaldo is the man leading the attack, while his supporters are Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez.

Full-back Luke Shaw, who has been linked to Chelsea, starts as well for Southampton, who has been the surprised package so far this season.
