MIAMI (Sporting Alert) — Dwyane Wade starts tonight for the Miami Heat in the marque NBA clash against Kevin Durant and Oklahoma City Thunder at AmericanAirlines Arena in Florida.
The All-Star guard returned from an injury to play 24 minutes off the bench in the 113-101 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, but Miami’s head coach Erik Spoelstra says he will start Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Toney Douglas has been listed as active for the Heat, while the defending champions listed as James Jones and Roger Mason Jr. are inactive.
Durant and the Thunder have won eight-straight games and will look improve that streak against one of the top defensive teams in the NBA.
It is also going to be interesting to see the matchup between Durant and Miami Heat star LeBron James, who admitted that Thunder forward can’t be guarded one-on-one.
“Individually, he can’t be stopped by any 1-on-1 player,” James said. “There’s nobody that can guard him 1-on-1.”
