Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis lead the backline, with Joleon Lescott and Matija Nastasic starting on the bench, as manager Manuel Pellegrini making six changes from the team that won in FA Cup tie against Watford at the weekend.
Amongst the substitutes also are Stevan Jovetic, Alvaro Negredo and Jack Rodwell
Tottenham, meanwhile, make just one change from the side that last featured with Gylfi Sigurdsson coming into the midfield for Nacer Chadli.
Emmanuel Adebayor leads the attack against his former club, with Roberto Soldado and Jermain Defoe both starting on the bench for the clash at White Hart Lane.
