Watch 2017 Drake Relays Live; Heat Sheets, Live Results

Don’t miss the action from the 2017 Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee, with several Olympic champions and a few world record holders set to be in action.

DES MOINES, IOWA, Sporting Alert — Watch live streaming coverage of some of the world’s top athletes as they open their outdoor seasons at the 2017 Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee.

This year’s event will again be hosted at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and runs Thursday through Saturday, April 27-29.

There will be a mixture of online streaming coverage on USATF.TV and television TV coverage on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra.

Among the highlighted athletes on the schedule to compete in the three-day event are Brittney Reese, Kirani James, LaShawn Merritt, Clayton Murphy, Jenny Simpson, Brenda Martinez, as well as Omar McLeod, Keni Harrison, Sandi Morris and Christian Taylor.

One of the selected events to keep a close eye on is the men’s 400m dash, which will feature the top two finishers from last year, in James and Merritt, as well as four other runners who have dipped below 45 seconds in their career thus far.

The men’s 110m hurdles field is also loaded with talent with 2016 Rio Olympic champion and last year’s Drake Relays winner Omar McLeod of Jamaica headlining the list of starters.

Also included in the field are World record holder Aries Merritt of USA, Andrew Riley of Jamaica, American Jarret Eaton and Great Britain’s Andrew Pozzi.

The women’s sprint hurdles is also packed with talented runners, with world record holder Keni Harrison of USA leading the charges in her return to defend her Drake Relays title.

Beijing Olympic champion from 2008, American Dawn Harper-Nelson, is also in the field along with American Rio Olympic silver and bronze medallists Nia Ali and Kristi Castlin.

Meanwhile, three-time Olympian and two-time Olympic long jump medalist Brittney Reese, will look to get the better of Great Britain’s Lorraine Ugen, who defeated the American in the women’s long jump at last year’s Drake Relays.

Elsewhere, Rio Olympic champion Derek Drouin of Canada headline the men’s high jump field, Sam Kendricks (USA), the bronze medallist in Rio in the men’s pole vault, is the frontrunner in that event, while Olympic silver medallist Sandi Morris of USA headlines the women’s competition.
