English Premier League Points Standings

STOCKHOLM, Sporting Alert – Jamie Vardy returns to the starting line-up for Leicester City in today’s International Champions Cup clash against Barcelona in Stockholm, Sweden.

Vardy, who played a key role in the Foxes lifting the English Premier League title last season, returned to regular training this week and will take his place in the starting line-up for the first time this pre-season.

The England defensive forward who turned down a move to join Arsenal earlier this summer, will lead the Leicester City attack and admitted that he was looking forward to being back playing with the Premier League champions.

Riyad Mahrez, who also played a massive part in the Foxes winning the EPL last term, starts as well, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.

Daniel Drinkwater, who was snubbed for the Euro 2016 tournament, is in the starting line-up as well, so too is new recruit Ron-Robert Zieler, who starts in goal.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi, Arda Turan and Luis Suarez all start today for Barcelona, which is coming off a 3-1 victory over Scottish champions Celtic in the last outing.

Jérémy Mathieu, Aleix Vidal and Sergi Roberto start as well, with Jordi Masip getting the chance to start in goal.

Captain Wes Morgan, Robert Huth, and Marc Albrighton all start as well for Leicester City, which will be looking to bounce back from the 4-0 defeat suffered at the hands of PSG at the weekend.
