SAN ANTONIO (Sporting Alert) — After leading the overall standings during the regular season, the San Antonio Spurs now turn their focus to the NBA playoffs as they take on the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA playoff first round series on Sunday.

Spurs were once again very impressive this campaign, finishing the regular season with a 62-20, the best in the league.
However, All-star point guard Tony Parker, who will join the likes of fellow experienced players Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, says their regular season record will be meaningless if San Antonio doesn’t go on to win the NBA championship this year.
That quest begins at the AT&T Center and Parker, although delighted with the No.1 overall seed and home court advantage throughout the playoff, is remaining cautious.
“It shows a lot of character on our team, but at the same time, it doesn’t mean anything if we don’t win the whole thing,” Parker said on Saturday.
“We have home court. We did a good job. But we know it doesn’t guarantee anything. We just have to stay focused and we know we have a long way to go.”
