Amongst the stars competing at the meeting are Jamaican Veronica Campbell-Brown, Nigerian Blessing Okagbare and American Justin Gatlin.
Campbell-Brown and Okagbare will both compete in the women’s 200m dash, while Gatlin will take on a good field in the men’s 100m, which also includes Jamaica’s Nesta Carter, American Mike Rodgers and Saint Kitts and Nevis’ veteran Kim Collins.
Blessing earlier women the women’s Long Jump after leaping a meeting record of 6.86m on her first jump of competition to beat Serbian Ivana Spanovic, who set a national record of 6.85m.
Croatian Sandra Perkovic won the women’s discus thrower title with a new meeting and national and world-leading 70.52m.
There will be 16 Diamond League events on the schedule in Shanghai for Sunday.
The men’s 10m hurdles, 800m and 5000m, as well as the women’s 3000m Steeplechase, 200m and 1500m are also on the schedule on Sunday.
