LONDON (Sporting Alert) — On form striker Jermain Defoe keeps his place in Tottenham’s starting lineup for today’s English Premier League clash with West Ham United at White Hart Lane.

The England frontman has been in good goalscoring touches in the Europa League recently and has been reward with a starting place in the EPL – replacing regular first choice, Roberto Soldado, who is on the bench.

Also starting for Spurs are Paulinho, Mousa Dembele, Andros Townsend, Christian Eriksen and Gylfi Sigurdsson, with Michael Dawson and Jan Vertonghen also in the starting team.

West Ham United, meanwhile, have recalled winger Stewart Downing with striker Ricardo Vaz Te also starting for the visitors.

Joe Cole and Mladen Petric are both on the bench for Sam Allardyce’s side.
