MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Wayne Rooney will not push for a transfer move away from Manchester United, despite being linked with a move to Chelsea, SkySports News is reporting on Tuesday.

Rooney has been on the top of Chelsea’s shopping list all this summer and the club’s manager Jose Mourinho has apparently called on the striker to decide whether he wants to leave or stay.

“I think the person that started the story has to finish the story.

“A club like us, a manager like me and the people that work in the club with me, we are not silly to try to get a player from a big club, a club that doesn’t sell what they don’t want to sell.

“We are not silly to try to something if somebody didn’t start it.

“It is time for the good of everyone to finish the story, to one side or the other side.”

However, it is understood that the Rooney has no desire to force a move away from Old Trafford and is ready to play his part in helping Manchester United retain the EPL title, as well as battle for other trophies this season.
