Wigan, beaten by Manchester United on Saturday, will be dressing out for back-to-back games in successive days.
The English Premier League side enters this game with two pre-season victories already in the bag after picking up a 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers on July 8 and a comfortable 5-0 positive result against Fleetwood on Wednesday.
From their two games so far, Liverpool have scored six goals and are yet to concede.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to mix up his line-up again, with the likes of Marko Grujic, Ben Woodburn and Ryan Kent, who all impressed against Fleetwood, expected to get another runout.
Striker Roberto Firmino scored a brace in the last game and could return to the starting XI, while Danny Ings, who missed a penalty kick against Fleetwood Town, could make way for the Brazilian.
Look out for the likes of Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane, Lucas, Joel Matip, Ovie Ejaria, Alberto Moreno, Tiago Illori, Andre Wisdom, Lazar Markovic and Trent Alexander-Arnold to make an impact.
Sunday’s contest will be Wigan Athletic’s third game in the pre-season fixtures as well, following battle against Chester and Manchester United.
“It’s a very unique situation to play two games in the space of two days against clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool, but it’s something I wanted during pre-season, perhaps a week or so later into the schedule, but we had the opportunity when Man Utd came in an asked us for the game and I don’t think we could have turned that down.”
