AP Top 25, ESPN3 Schedule: College Basketball: Dec. 3

Sporting Alert – College basketball AP Top 25 and the ESPN3 schedule for Saturday, December 3.

Listed on the agenda for this weekend are games involving some of the nation’s best programs, including No. 1 Kentucky, No. 2 Villanova, No. 4 Kansas and No. 5 Duke.

Topping the list is an all-AP Top 25 ranked matchup between the top-ranked Wildcats and No. 11 UCLA, who will both put undefeated records on the line when they clash at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

Kentucky (7-0) has cruised through its opening seven games to start the season but should be well tested by the Bruins (8-0), who are seeking their ninth successive win in the early term.

Athletic guard Lonzo Ball, who is averaging 14.6 points, 9.6 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game, is expected to be a handful for the Wildcats, who will be facing someone like him for the first time this campaign.

Isaac Hamilton is scoring 18 points per competition, while TJ Leaf is putting together 17.3 points and nine rebounds per contest for UCLA.

Kentucky is also blessed with talented rookies with guard Malik Monk scoring 19.3 points per outing to lead the way.

Sophomore guard Isaiah Briscoe is averaging 18.4 points and De’Aaron Fox is putting up 15.3 points per battles this season.

“I enjoy the preparation of these games to try and make sure I’m putting my team in the best position to win,” Kentucky head coach John Calipari said.

“But what I’m gonna tell them: You don’t know if you’re going to win or lose until you win or lose.

“You might as well worry about preparation and being the best version of yourself, having a good game plan and a little bit of a backup, and then have a great night’s sleep and let’s go play the game and see what happens.”

The ESPN3 schedule includes two teams ranked in the AP top 25.

No. 14 Louisville will meet Grand Canyon University at GCU Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, while Morehead State travels to No. 15 Purdue to feature at the Mackey Arena in West Lafayette in Indiana.

In other AP Top 25 games, No. 2 Villanova will put its 7-0 record this season on the line against Saint Joseph’s, No. 4 Kansas (6-1) will entertain Stanford (6-2), fifth-ranked Duke (7-1) is up against Maine, while sixth-ranked Virginia (7-0) is up against No. 25 West Virginia (5-1) at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville.

Another highlighted matchup this weekend will come from Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas, where No. 9 Baylor (7-0) will look to take care of another AP Top 25 ranked team.

The Bears are going up against undefeated seventh-ranked Xavier (7-0), which is facing against its first ranked opponent this season.

Baylor, however, has already beaten then-No. 4 Oregon, then-No. 24 Michigan State and then-No. 10 Louisville, and according to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, the Bears have a 69 percent chance to win against the Musketeers.
