GOAL UPDATE:

GOAL! ASTON VILLA 1-2 BRIGHTON (March, 56)

And Brighton are back in front at Villa Park after a wonderful striker by March. A timely build-up play saw Gross switching the ball to the left flank to pick out March and he curled home a nice finish into the far corner. Good game!!

GOAL! ASTON VILLA 1-1 BRIGHTON (Konsa, 47)

An early free kick did the trick for the home side as Traore whips the set piece in front of the crowd and Konsa drives forward from deep to sweep home with an outstretched foot. It was the perfect start for Aston Villa.

GOAL! ASTON VILLA 0-1 BRIGHTON (Welbeck, 12)

Danny Welbeck has scored a clever goal to get Brighton ahead. The former Manchester United forward scores his first goal for his new club with a lovely finish after being played through on goal.

As expected, Aston Villa are unchanged from the side that picked up a 3-0 win against Arsenal last time out. Manager Dean Smith believes his team is starting to play together again after a few setbacks and he will be looking to England midfielder Jack Grealish to continue leading the way.

The only change from the Arsenal win comes on the bench with Keinan Davis replaced by Bertrand Traore.

Meanwhile, Brighton have decided to make a couple of adjustments from the side that played out a 0-0 draw with Burnley before the international break.

There are two changes today for the visitors as Lewis Dunk returns after suspension and Solly March also fit to start after an ankle injury.

Being replaced are Joel Veltman and Dan Burn, who drop to the bench. Aaron Connolly is also among the substitutes after he recovered from a thigh injury.

Both teams have played well in patches this season, but if I had to pick, base on form, I would give Aston Villa the edge to take this one.
