BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil (Sporting Alert) — Luis Suárez, Edinson Cavani and Diego Forlan all start for Uruguay in tonight’s Confederations Cup semi-finals against hosts Brazil at Estadio Mineirao.
The trio started against Nigeria and formed a productive partnership and have been handed the task of getting Uruguay into the final with a win tonight.
Despite scoring a hat-trick in the last group game, Abel Hernandez returns to the bench.
Meanwhile, defender David Luiz and midfielder Paulinho have both passed fitness tests and will start for Brazil.
Leading goalscorer and star forward Neymar, who has scored three goals already in the tournament, Fred, who had a double in the 4-2 win over Italy over the weekend and captain and leading center-back Thiago Silva all start as well.
Jo, Lucas Moura and Dante are amongst the substitutes.
Uruguay and Brazil last met in June 2009, when the latter won 4-0 on the road in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match, they have been picked by experts and bookies as 93-percent favourites for the win tonight.
