LONDON — Chelsea and Manchester City have named their respective starting lineups for today’s Community Shield at Wembley.
Maurizio Sarri will be taking charge of Chelsea for the first time in a competitive game and he’s named strong squad to take on the defending Premier League champions.
Among the starters today for the Blues is new summer signing Jorginho, along with Cesc Fabregas, Pedro, Alvaro Morata, Ross Barkley and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Interestingly, Willian, who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, has been named on the bench.
There is no Eden Hazard fellow Belgium teammate Thibaut Courtois for the Blues today.
Meanwhile, summer signing Riyad Mahrez is fit to start for Manchester City after recovering from an ankle injury in pre-season.
Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho all start for Pep Guardiola’s side, while Vincent Kompany and İlkay Gundogan, a reported target of Inter Milan, are among the substitutes.
Claudio Bravo has been given the nod to start in goal, with regular No. 1 Ederson on the bench.
