Among the titles up for grab when the action gets underway Sunday are the men’s and women’s 200m, the men’s 110m hurdles, the women’s discus, the women’s and men’s 800m and 5,000m.

The first event on the day is the women’s pole vault competition at 1:30pm, with Jennifer Suhr and Mary Saxer included in the list of starters.

The first race on the track will be the semi-finals of the men’s and women’s 200m.

National 100m champion Tyson Gay and Wallace Spearmon will race together in the second semi-finals of the men’s 200m, with Isiah Young, Maurice Mitchell and Ameer Webb entered for the first semis.

On the women’s side, Olympic champion Allyson Felix is set to be tested in the first heat by Dee Dee Trotter and Jeneba Tarmoh, while NCAA champion Kimberlyn Duncan is expected to have things her way in the second heat.

Mary Cain, after making the women’s 1,500m team for the World Championships in Moscow with a second place finish earlier at the trials, will more than likely scratch herself from the 5,000m, but it is still uncertain over whether Jordan Hasay, the 10,000m runner up will race.

According to reports, Hasay could also skip the 5,000m and just concentrate on racing in the 10K to recover a little more from the tough college season.

Galen Rupp, the 10,000m champion from Thursday, Bernard Lagat and Chris Derrick are the top starters in the men’s 5,000m.

Dathan Ritzenhein, Lopez Lomong, Evan Jager and Ben True have also entered and will look to win one of the places to Moscow.

Alysia Montano has looked comfortable in the early rounds of the women’s 800m and start favourite to land another national crown, while Nick Symmonds, Duane Solomon and Brandon Johnson are the top men racers.
