As expected, the highlighted matchup in Week 4 came from Old Trafford where Manchester City edged Manchester United 2-1 to help Pep Guardiola guide his side to the best start in club history.
First half goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho in the 15th and 36th minutes, was enough to pilot the Citizens to the victory, as Guardiola continued his dominance over Jose Mourinho in career head-to-head meetings.
It was also the first Manchester derby clash between the two world-class managers.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted for Manchester United in 42nd, as the Red Devils suffered their first defeat of the new season after winning their opening three games of the season.
Tottenham picked up a comfortable 4-0 victory over Stoke City on the road, with Son Heung-Min scoring a brace.
England internationals Dele Alli and Harry Kane also got on the scoresheet for the Spurs, who led 1-0 at halftime.
Meanwhile, it took a late Santi Cazorla penalty kick to guide Arsenal to a 2-1 over Southampton in front of a crowd of 59,000.
The Saints took the lead in the 18th minute from a Petr Cech own goal, but Laurent Koscielny scored a brilliant equaliser in the 29th minute before Santi Cazorla found the winner in the fourth minute of injury time.
Liverpool impressively blasted defending champions Leicester City 4-1, with Roberto Firmino scoring twice in the victory.
The Brazilian forward found the net in the 13th and 89th minutes, while Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana also scored for the Reds.
England forward Jamie Vardy scored the lone goal for Leicester City in the defeat.
Elsewhere, Watford came from behind to beat West Ham United 4-2, Christian Benteke netted his first goal for Crystal Palace in a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough, while Callum Wilson scored the winner for Bournemouth in a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
